Rangers have a “minor interest” in bringing Josh Windass back to Ibrox in a loan deal, according to a popular Patreon account.
Football Stewart – a reputable analyst who compares and contrasts the game in Scotland and in particular Rangers – made the claim on his subscription-based channel when responding to a question on Rangers’ transfer interest.
Backing up claims from Mark Guidi that Rangers want to bring one player in [Superscoreboard], Football Stewart believes the club are genuinely considering the forward, even if a move is unlikely.

“I think one will come in”, said Stewart [Patreon].
“Only thing I’ve heard is Rangers retain a minor interest in bringing Josh Windass back on loan but file under unlikely.
“Scouted plenty in France but nothing seems close. Majer died down a bit as well.”
Windass, 26, left Ibrox at the beginning of last season after enjoying his most successful campaign in front of goal the year previously where he scored 18 goals.
Displaying a considerable level of arrogance, Windass left the club because he couldn’t believe Rangers would accept a £2.5m offer for his services [Open Goal].
Undoubtedly a good player and someone who knows the club very well, Windass may well jump at a second chance to do things right at Rangers.

Popular Patreon account Football Stewart might claim there’s interest, but he does say a move for the forward remains unlikely.
Windass hit 19 goals in 73 appearances in total for Rangers and is one of the most polarising players to turn out at Ibrox in recent seasons.
