Rangers have been handed a triple injury boost ahead of the club’s crunch clash with Celtic in mid-October after three first-team stars were the subject of good news this week.

Ibrox duo Kemar Roofe and Joe Aribo face a fitness sweat to be fit the crunch match at Celtic Park in time and Rangers were boosted by the news that both are back doing gym work.

£3.5m summer signing Roofe snapped the pair working hard as they step up their recovery ahead of the international break.

Fears were growing about the injury to Aribo after he was not called up to the Nigerian international squad but he is certainly progressing as he looks to recover from an ankle knock.

Former Charlton midfielder Joe Aribo started the season very strongly but has been missing ever since Rangers defeated St. Johnstone 3-0 in mid-August.

On September 11th Rangers boss Steven Gerrard claimed the gangly midfielder faced four to six weeks out of action which means he could return halfway through the international break.

Kemar Roofe picked up a calf injury during the 5-0 win over Lincoln Red Imps with Rangers initially believing the problem to be minimal.

The two players have been joined on the Ibrox injury list alongside Scotland international Ryan Jack, who was boosted by the news he made the national team’s squad for UEFA Nations League playoffs.

This would suggest Jack will be fit enough to play by the time qualifiers roll around next week in a sizeable boost to both Scotland and Rangers’ chances.

Steven Gerrard told the press Jack could be ruled out for up to four weeks with a calf knock 16th September but admitted “it’s difficult to say” for sure.

All three players appear to be making strong progress and Rangers fans will be buoyed by the news these first-team stars remain in contention for the crunch Scottish Premiership tie.
