Rangers flop Phillipe Senderos has found a new home with Swiss second division side, three years since his tumultuous time at Ibrox.

The big Swiss defender will be returning to his homeland to play Chiasso, who the defender has reportedly signed a two-year deal with.

It’s not the first club Senderos has played at since his forgettable spell in Glasgow – the big defender turned out for Houston Dynamo last season.

The defender will be remembered for his role in that 5-1 demolition of Rangers at Celtic Park in September 2016.

The Swiss stopper was subbed on only to be sent off for one of the most ridiculous hand-balls of all time. It set us up for a rout.

Phillipe Senderos would only play four games in total for Rangers and the bizarre Mark Warburton signing proved to be one of the worst of the Englishman’s tenure.

Now 34, the former Arsenal and AC Milan defender could well still have plenty to offer in Switzerland.

That said, there won’t be a deluge of Rangers fans out congratulating the big defender for his latest move.

Fast forward to 2019 and Rangers have an embarrassment of riches in the centre back position.

But has the poor form of one normally solid defensive stalwart opened the door for a rarely seen summer signing?
