Gers flop and former Swiss international Philippe Senderos has expressed his support of Rangers ahead of the Ibrox side’s trip to play Young Boys of Bern.
The former Arsenal, AC Milan and Fulham stopper may have flopped in Glasgow, but he still knows more than most about the threat that Young Boys than most.
Swiss champions and with a team full of talent, the Chicasso defender believes that the Stade de Suisse atmosphere will pose no problem to Rangers, but the pitch might.

“Young Boys at home is always a friendly atmosphere and I don’t see Rangers being surprised or intimidated,” said Philippe Senderos, as quoted by the Daily Record.
“But the big thing is that they play on astroturf and that plays into their hands as they train on it every single day so it’s a huge advantage for them.”
Despite currently playing in Switzerland and earning 57 caps for the Swiss international side, 34-year-old Senderos has opened up on supporting Rangers for the tie in Bern.
Whilst the former Ibrox defender had an ill-fated time in Glasgow, Rangers have clearly left a lasting impression on Senderos, who is hoping Steven Gerrard’s side leave his homeland with a victory.
“I have watched a lot of Young Boys in the last couple of years,” said Senderos.
“They won the league and have been head and shoulders above everyone and are undoubtedly the best Swiss team at the moment.

“It’s a tough game to call because Young Boys are really strong in Bern and they will want to do well at home in this competition but I hope for a Rangers victory.”
Senderos signed for Rangers in 2016 but was released after a year having only played four games for the club, one of those included an Old Firm red card nightmare in a 5-1 defeat at Parkhead in September that year.
