2018 Rangers flop Ovie Ejaria continues to impress with EFL Championship club Reading.

The 21-year-old endured a disappointing stint at Ibrox last year, having joined on a season-long loan from Liverpool.

He was a regular in the team with Steven Gerrard clearly a big fan, but despite being given a creative license, he failed to contribute sufficiently, netting twice in 28 appearances in all competitions, and registering just a solitary assist in the league.

Unpopular with the Gers support and unable to settle in Glasgow, he ended his loan spell early and returned to his parent club in December [Sky Sports].

However, he finished the 2018/19 campaign at Reading and returned on another loan deal at the start of this season, with things going much better for him in the English second tier.

Often occupying a more traditional midfield role, he’s been a big hit with Royals fans.

Earlier in the season, he scored a stunning goal in a draw at West Brom and he was at it again at the weekend, at home to Luton Town.

After pulling out to the left flank on a counter-attack, Ejaria drove at the opposition defence, before cutting inside and firing a shot into the far corner leaving the keeper rooted to the spot.

Reading would run out 3-0 winners in the end, with the three points helping them rise to 17th in the league table.

The Liverpool loanee’s goal and overall performance saw him showered with praise on social media.
