Rangers fans are quite rightly delighted as club captain James Tavernier extends his Ibrox deal – but Gers supporters don’t want the club to stop there.
Since wrapping up 55 Rangers have set about committing some of the club’s most important players to extended terms with Tavernier joining Steven Davis and Allan McGregor in renewing.
At 29, Tavernier’s situation is slightly different from the Ibrox veterans but the prospect of seeing the powerful right-back dominate in Glasgow for years to come is an exciting one for supporters.
Alongside Tavernier, another Englishman has been a stand-out this season and the Gers want the club’s vice-captain Connor Goldson signed up next.
The powerful defender, 28, has been a stalwart for the Gers in this legendary campaign, playing every, single minute of football the club has this season.
It’s a remarkable statistic for Connor who has solidified himself as a vital component of Steven Gerrard’s Rangers team.

The thought of losing the big man before his time is a worrying one for supporters but come the end of the season the ex-Brighton man will be entering the final year of his contract.
Signed for a reported £3m in 2018 [Sky Sports], it’s been money well spent for Rangers and the fans want the club to push the boat out and extend the 6ft3 colossus’ deal for a few more years yet:

Goldson has been phenomenal for Rangers this season and deserves all the plaudits coming his way as he approaches his 50th game of the campaign against Hibs this weekend.
Goldson’s value isn’t only clear on the pitch, but off it too – earlier in the season he was valued as the club’s most valuable player with an £18m price tag attached to his abilities.
