Rangers fans slaughter Celtic over latest Old Firm trademark news

Rangers fans have had plenty to laugh about this season regarding Old Firm rivals Celtic but their latest tweet certainly took the goading to another level.

Biting to comments made by Rangers chairman Douglas Park where he described them as the “other half of the Old Firm” [Twitter], Celtic sent out a tweet seemingly to refute the claim.

Salty about their mention as Rangers responded to “inaccurate” government claims about Rangers’ approach to fans gathering, Celtic claimed they’re not the other half of anything.

On top that, they tried sevcoing their way back into the hearts of supporters with the classic new club patter relating to the events of 2012.

But the club was left with egg on their face when just about every newspaper carried the story that they renewed the term “the Old Firm” alongside Rangers as a trademark only last week.

That’s right – Celtic continue to own the trademark behind the term despite backing up claims there is no such thing as the Old Firm in their tweets.

Well, there is, we know it, you know it, we’d rather there wasn’t sometimes but whatever you want to call it, there’s a historic rivalry between these two clubs which hasn’t gone anywhere, no matter how salty some of their fans might be over our title win.

The club – by registering this trademark – clearly agree behind the scenes, something which makes the tweet all the sweeter.

Rangers fans have been lapping it up on Twitter today as some even offer to take the Old Firm trademark off Celtic hands:

Rangers continue to Live it Up as the Ibrox side secures a legendary 55th title and the party shows no signs of stopping anytime soon.

The fans have also been saluting the Guinness World Records for their latest tweet regarding the Scottish Champions.
