Rangers fans have been slaughtering Atletico Madrid and ex-Celtic striker Moussa Dembele for appearing to have a pop at the Gers – despite cheaply securing a La Liga winners’ medal.

Atleti have been crowned Champions of Spain after a dramatic season went to the final day and the club held their nerve to come back from a goal down to beat Real Valladolid 2-1.

Real Madrid had also managed to turn their match against Villarreal around to win 2-1 meaning Luis Suarez’s Atletico winner secured the title after he was deemed surplus to requirements by Barcelona in the summer.

Moussa Dembele had a splendid time in Scotland facing off against lesser opponents and has made a reputation for himself berating Rangers fans in the aftermath.

Celtic fans cling on to the French forward in a cringey “please come back” kind of way and the striker routinely pipes up with pot shots at the Gers.

Dembele – who moved to Atletico on loan in January – done this again after Celtic fans had congratulated his title victory, taking aim at Rangers’ invincible season.

The ex-Fulham striker was part of the Celtic side who also done an Invincible league season in 2017.

Good to see Rangers’ relentless 55 isn’t getting to them.

Dembele was silenced in pre-season after years of piping up when Rangers went to Lyon and laughed him off the park in a friendly tournament in his team’s own stadium.

The Gers beat Lyon 2-0 with Dembele playing more like a 2020 pre-season Leigh Griffiths after coming off the bench in the match.

Rangers fans were also quick to slaughter the Frenchman in the aftermath of this tweet for the fact that he didn’t play even close to an influential role for Atletico this season.

Dembele, 24, made five substitute appearances throughout the campaign – amounting to a total of 95 minutes – and didn’t hit a single goal for the club.

The striker played 10 minutes of the club’s last six league games despite being fully fit.

Rangers supporters took great pleasure in sitting the £20m striker down on Twitter as they took aim at the outspoken ex-Celtic star – and the Parkhead fans too:

Rangers’ title victory continues to break the hearts of Celtic fans and ex-Celtic players everywhere and Dembele isn’t the only one taking shots on Twitter this week.
