A Rangers Development XI travelled to Poolfoot Farm on Tuesday afternoon, to take on Fleetwood Town U23s in a friendly.
While Academy prospects like Lewis Mayo and Jordan Houston featured, the game provided an opportunity for several experienced players currently out of the first-team reckoning, to get minutes under their belt.
Eros Grezda was named on the wing, while Graham Dorrans and Jamie Murphy also started.

However, the inclusion which shocked some fans the most was that of Joe Dodoo.
Just last week, we asked whether or not there the 24-year-old would be able to secure an exit from Ibrox before the transfer window closed. At that point, he hadn’t been seen for over a month – his last known appearance coming in a pre-season Development fixture against Stirling Albion.
He returned this afternoon, though, and several fans expressed their surprise on social media.

Despite his lack of previous match action, Dodoo played the full 90 minutes as the Gers edged out their opposition.
It wasn’t the ex-Leicester City player who did the damage, though. Young defenders James Maxwell and Jordan Houston got themselves on the scoresheet in the second-half to secure a 2-0 victory.
With reports in Ghana linking Dodoo with an imminent Ibrox exit [Football Ghana], perhaps this was his last hurrah in a Rangers shirt. It would bring to an end a three-year stint where he played 27 times in all competitions, scoring five times [Soccerbase].
He’s been out of the first-team picture for a long time though, registering just a single substitute appearance since May 2017.
