Rangers fans react to Hearts striker Steven Naismith's "embarrassing" dive

Hearts striker Steven Naismith might not have played the full 90 minutes at Hampden, but he certainly caught the eye of Rangers fans.

The former Gers striker isn’t the most popular man at Ibrox after comments he made about new clubs and transferring his contract after the club’s collapse in 2012.

Now that Rangers are beginning to flourish and managerless Hearts are in the middle of a real battle on and off the pitch, Naismith might be beginning to regret those statements.

The Hearts forward’s season has been disrupted with injury and he took to the pitch against Rangers after 53 minutes to turn a game which was pretty much already away from Hearts.

The Scotland international was powerless to resist as the Jambos were swept away at Hampden and Rangers booked their place in the Final with a 3-0 win.

But away from being booked and arguing with Ryan Jack, it’s a pretty pathetic dive which stands out in an otherwise uninspired performance from the striker.

The Rangers fans clearly didn’t appreciate the dive and it’s just added that extra bit to the bad feeling that he has with the fans, who routinely booed him when he got on the ball.

But does the forward deserve it? Naismith was a good player for Rangers a firm fan favourite when he was at the club, winning six trophies at Ibrox.

He’s not the only striker to catch the eye in the match either, only this one did so for different reasons.
