They say when it rains it pours and the heavens have opened at Hampden for Rangers this afternoon.
Philippe Clement has faced a barrage of questions this week in the build up to the Premier Sports Cup semi-final tie with Motherwell at the national stadium.
Pressure continues to pile on top the manager as results and performances have been far from good enough in recent weeks.
The opportunity for the Light Blues to reach a final, however, was presented to the squad today as they look to improve and make it back to Hampden in December to face Celtic for the trophy.

Unfortunately the first-half, for Gers, has not gone according to plan at all and they find themselves 1-0 down.
It was a goal from boyhood Rangers fan Andy Halliday that made the difference before the break as the 33-year-old showed what Gers’ players have been missing for months – determination.
But the former Ibrox midfielder had a helping hand from summer signing Jefte whose defending was inexplicable at the back post after a cross had come in from the left-flank.
Andy Halliday scored the opener against Rangers but refused to celebrate
As opposed to attacking the ball, the Brazilian assumed it would fall for him and he turned his back to begin a fresh attack.
However he did not account for Halliday steaming in to net and goalkeeper Jack Butland could hardly believe it.
Nor could the supporters on social media, either.
One complained: “Where is Jefte going,” as another moaned: “Where was Jefte running too embarrassing never a football player..”
Philippe Clement is under serious pressure as Rangers manager
One wrote: “That’s horrific defending. Jefte just runs away”, as a fourth commented: “Seen enough of Jefte now to tell you he’s not up to standards and never will be.”
Another said: “So poor from Jefte,” as one more supporter slaughtered their man, adding: “WTF is Jefte doing??? Awful defending all round, but that is farcical…”
