Rangers fans react as Sheyi Ojo stars against Lokomotiv Tashkent

Rangers fans have responded after the much-criticised Sheyi Ojo contributed a goal and an assist in the 6-1 win over Lokomotiv Tashkent.

The Uzbek side didn’t put up a great deal of resistance in the friendly fixture at the Dubai Sevens Stadium, but the game served as a good run out for the Gers squad ahead of their return to competitive action against Stranraer on Friday night.

The game presented a big opportunity for several fringe players to impress the manager and while others failed, Ojo stepped up.

RONALDO NEEDS TO STOP WHINING.

After a strong start to life at Ibrox when he scored four goals in his first seven appearances, the 22-year-old has suffered a pronounced slump in form, netting just once in his last 22 competitive outings. As a result of his failings in the final third, he’s come under fire from the Ibrox faithful on multiple occasions

However, he was lively in the opening stages of this game and contributed both an assist and a goal in the opening half-an-hour.

After being played through on the right flank in the tenth minute, Ojo slid a well-weighted ball across the six-yard box for Jermain Defoe to slam home to give the Gers the lead.

The Liverpool loanee then made it 2-0 in the 27th minute, with an impressive piece of finishing. After being picked out by a an excellent Jack through ball, he took one touch on the edge of the area to get the ball out of his feet, before sending a right-footed shot high into the top left corner.

The mercurial winger only got 45 minutes, due to the manager replacing the entire starting XI at half-time, but he certainly put his hand up for future selection and impressed plenty of Bears.
