Rangers have criticised the disciplinary process in Scotland as the club reacts to the latest retrospective charge which was levelled at the side.
Striker Kemar Roofe will now miss two matches due to an SFA ban which came after an appeal by Rangers over the charge which centres around a tackle on St. Johnstone star Murray Davidson.
Rangers boss Steven Gerrard had previously railed against the inconsistency of retrospective decision-making at Hampden following the banning of striker Alfredo Morelos.
And consistency was once again the topic of the day as the Gers cited “confusion” over which decisions merit retrospective action and which don’t.
The club passed comment on the situation but clearly tried their best not to blow it up beyond recognisable proportion.
“We note the outcome of today’s hearing,” starts the Rangers statement.
“Rangers FC recently called for consistency in the Scottish FA’s disciplinary process.
“There seems to be real confusion within the game regarding which incidents are cited and those that are not. This confusion solidifies our viewpoint regarding the current system.”

The fall-out from the Kemar Roofe tackle continues with Rangers clashing with one radio station for suggesting the tackle led to Murray Davidson being injured.
Roofe is in fact probably due a few apologies by now after Saints boss Callum Davidson admitted midfielder Davidson’s injury was not caused by the tackle.
