The footage comes from the 2004/05 campaign – the Spaniard’s first with the Gers – after he’d been signed from Dundee by Alex McLeish.

The Gers were 1-0 up away at Parkhead against Martin O’Neill’s Celtic in February, courtesy of a goal from Gregory Vignal.

It looked as though it would be a nervy final ten minutes with John Hartson, Craig Bellamy and Chris Sutton all on the pitch for the hosts, but Novo had other ideas.

Picked out by a long ball from Fernando Ricksen, he shrugged off Ulrik Laursen and lifted a fine first-time finish over Rab Douglas to secure the three points.

The stunning effort silenced the home faithful and sent the travelling Bears wild.

The victory would prove vital come the end of the season as the Gers went on to win the league by just a solitary point.

Novo was key to that domestic success, netting 19 top-flight goals and 25 in all competitions to finish as the club’s top scorer.
