Rangers fans have been praised by local police in Denmark after 743 fans turned out to see the Ibrox side hammer FC Midtjylland 4-2 in Herning.
Domestically the Glasgow club’s fans are often subject to a hammering from the sports press but on their travels its refreshing to hear a foreign side and police force praise the club’s fans.
Rangers were given the warmest of welcomes by the Danish Superliga side and the fans clearly left an impression as they returned the hospitality in kind.
Congratulations to Rangers FC. What a match! Together with FC Midtjylland fans you created a wonderful athmosphere at the stadium. We hope you enjoyed your stay in Herning. We wish you a safe jouney back to Scotland.#politidk @RangersFCSLO #FCMRangers

In a message on Twitter, the MV-Jyllands Politi spoke so positively about Gers fans.
“Congratulations to Rangers FC. What a match!” reads the tweet.
“Together with FC Midtjylland fans you created a wonderful atmosphere at the stadium.
“We hope you enjoyed your stay in Herning. We wish you a safe journey back to Scotland.”
Contrast the kind words a local police force from Denmark with the criticism levelled at Rangers fans this week from pundits at BBC Scotland and it’s night and day.
The Danes really did everything they could to accommodate Rangers, even hiring a bagpiper to welcome fans to the stadium and having some of their club staff wear the Ibrox club’s home top.
And whilst the police have been recognising the performance of Rangers fans, the hospitality of FC Midtjylland has not gone unnoticed by the Ibrox club’s supporters.
