Rangers fans made the lengthy trip to Herning in Denmark for last night’s Europa League clash with FC Midtjylland – and were surprised to be greeted by the Danish side’s kiosk staff all being kitted out in last season’s Rangers shirt.

The Danes appeared to have gone to great lengths to make the Rangers support feel welcome with a bagpiper also greeting them as they arrived – and fans on Twitter were blown away by the hospitality shown by their hosts.

Despite their fantastic welcome, Rangers weren’t as kind on the pitch as they comfortably won 4-2 to give themselves a fantastic chance of reaching the playoff round.

The Gers kits are made by Danish manufacturer Hummel, who welcomed the Gers to Denmark on their social media channels, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if they had a hand in the move.

Regardless of who thought of it, it’s a refreshing sight to see visiting Rangers fans made welcome on their European travels rather than dealing with often brutal policing and woeful organisation.

Gers fans on Twitter were really impressed with Midtjylland though – however one fan admitted that he’d feel a bit “guilty” once the Light Blues knocked them out of the competition.
