As the days wear on following the high-profile Covid-19 protocol breach of Jordan Jones and George Edmundson, many Rangers fans still haven’t cooled off.
In the immediate aftermath of the incident – which saw the duo attend a party with at least eight other people – Rangers fans railed against the pair with many even calling for their heads.

It’s a natural response – after all the insinuation is that these two would’ve simply waltzed back into training this morning without mentioning the party had the police not turned up.
But whilst there absolutely needs to be some kind of punishment, some could well do with listening to the wise words of gaffer Steven Gerrard as Rangers insist the issue will be dealt with internally.
The Ibrox boss was visibly peeved by the incident as Rangers interviewed their own manager on the situation in an attempt to get out in front of the press.
Gerrard said that the situation would be resolved in house – after discussing the incident with squad leaders – and stressed that he wanted to “draw a line” under the entire thing.
But with plenty gunning for the duo – and Rangers in a positive place on the pitch – Gerrard took his foot off their necks and perhaps its time some of their own fans did too.
“I think everyone at the club is disappointed in the actions of two players,” said Gerrard [RangersTV].
“I think it was important the club took decisive action. We’ve been very quick to do that which was pleasing to see.
“The players know they’ve let themselves down, and their families. They’ve also badly let their teammates down and the supporters of the club.
“They’ll be punished internally and it’ll be deal with internally, the important thing to me is that we draw a line under that.
“I don’t want to be sitting here and kick them even more, they’re feeling really down at the moment.
“They’re apologetic, they’re remorseful, they’re full of regret, and I think they’ll regret it for quite some time.”
Whilst the club’s supporters have applauded Rangers for their response to the incident the Gers and Steven Gerrard have made it clear that this will now be dealt with inside the club.

Rangers have also been clear throughout the process that this is not at the standard expected of a player at Ibrox.
It’s time we trusted the management, playing squad and those in the background at the club to make the right decision regarding this Covid breach and moved back onto what’s important – the football.
