Rangers fans have been lauding a popular online musician for adopting the club anthem Live It Up in his latest music video.

The talented Canadian musician Damien Robitaille regularly uploads spritely covers of classic songs with him playing multiple instruments including the piano.

The musician revealed that the Mental as Anything track was “one of the most requested songs by my fans” before paying tribute to those supporters in “Scotland, all of the UK and Australia”.

It’s not clear if the talented Canadian is aware that one of the main reasons there will have been so many requests is because of Rangers fans but the supporters have enjoyed the cover, nonetheless.

Rangers fans adopted 80s classic Live it Up in October after the club defeated Celtic 2-0 at Parkhead and such has been the success of the season it’s been adopted as an unofficial club anthem.

The song would then shoot up to the top of the UK iTunes chart and eventually capture the attention of the Aussie band themselves, with the chart-topping moment poignantly coming almost a year on from the passing of Mental as Anything frontman Greedy Smith.

Rangers fans took to Twitter to applaud musician Damien for the cover as the club’s fans continue to Live it Up ahead of their legendary 55th title:

Sounds like Damien has plenty of new fans from the blue side of Glasgow after he uploaded this cover of the Mental as Anything classic.

The singer isn’t the only one blaring Live it Up either – Rangers themselves turned the screw by blaring it over the tannoy at Ibrox last week.
