Ex-Rangers striker Kris Boyd is never shy about goading Celtic in his punditry and Gers fans couldn’t resist commenting on his latest wind-up.

The former Ibrox forward was covering Rangers for Sky Sports in their 4-0 win over Falkirk in the Betfred Cup and also discussing Ross County’s 2-0 win over Celtic.

Just as Jermain Defoe puts Rangers 1-0 up against Falkirk – and as Boyd was describing Celtic’s Ross County defeat as a “really bad result” – Boyd said that the goal means “it gets even better”.

At half time of Boyd’s coverage of the match, Gers fans also noticed the ex-striker smirking as he mentioned the fact Celtic had been knocked out of the cup.

The ex-Killie striker hasn’t always been a fan favourite in his coverage of Rangers but over the last few seasons, the pundit hasn’t been able to hide his allegiances.

It makes a dramatic change from all the Celtic-centric pundits having a field day with regards Rangers and Boyd has definitely earned the chance to have a smirk at their expense.

Rangers fans applauded the former Ibrox striker for his reaction to Celtic’s latest cock-up as they take to Twitter with their side’s splitting:

Rangers will now go on to face St. Mirren in the Betfred Cup quarter-final as they look to end their long wait for a trophy this season.

The Ibrox club’s fans have also been reacting in disbelief at the reaction of the Celtic support after their rivals melted down following the defeat to Ross County.
