Rangers fans have lauded first-team coach Michael Beale for sending a classy message to a loanee on Twitter as the Premiership title nears.

A 28th league win of the season on Saturday brought the Gers to within a point of their 55th top-flight title and they will be crowned champions on Sunday if Celtic fail to beat Dundee United at Tannadice.

Steven Gerrard’s side cruised to a 3-0 victory over St Mirren at Ibrox and then partied long into the night at the stadium, with the manager at the heart of the celebrations and Connor Goldson starting a chant with supporters gathered at the gates.

Not every player who has featured for the Gers this season was able to join in, though.

Several, including Jordan Jones, George Edmundson and Brandon Barker are currently out on loan.

Jones played 78 minutes for Sunderland as they defeated Rochdale 2-0 at the Stadium of Light in EFL League One, but it didn’t take him long to send a message to those celebrating at Ibrox.

“Enjoy every minute,” he wrote on Twitter on Saturday evening, in response to photographs from outside the dressing room.

Just moments later, first-team coach Beale replied to Jones’ tweet, writing: “You are part of this Jordan.”

Many Bears were delighted by Beale’s gesture, which likely made the Northern Ireland international feel involved despite being 150 miles or so away in North East England.

Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:

Jones didn’t manage to nail down a starting berth during the first half of the season and was involved in a high-profile breach of Covid regulations for which he received a substantial SFA ban, but he did make three Premiership appearances and scored an excellent goal in a 5-1 win over Motherwell at Fir Park in September.

Here’s how supporters reacted to the manager’s celebrations inside the Ibrox dressing room.
