It’s been hard to wipe the smile off Rangers fans faces over the last week or so. And even the threat of Celtic signing “PSG’s deadliest striker” hasn’t been enough to stop them creasing.
The bizarre remark was made by the Evening Times after Celtic signed Timothy Weah on loan from the French giants. They were loosely attributing the claim to Weah’s minutes per goal ratio.

So yeah, he’s not really PSG’s deadliest striker at all. The son of Liberian footballing legend George Weah might be considered a talent, but a player deadlier than Cavani, Mbappe and Neymar he is not.
That hasn’t stopped Rangers fans having a laugh about the whole thing on Twitter.

Old Firm loan strikers could prove pivotal

The Gers signed former England international Jermain Defoe prior to this announcement, with fans excited to see how the striker settles in.
Rivals haven’t taken the news all that well. You get the feeling they’re trying to big the Weah deal up to compete with Defoe’s.

The Ibrox side currently sit level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership, although our rivals have a game in hand. Three points also separate the top four sides in the league, with Killie and Aberdeen still in the mix.
It means the Scottish Premiership is as finely poised as it has been for years and this window could prove all important.
But who will have the biggest impact in Scotland, Jermain Defoe or Timothy Weah?
