There’s been plenty in Scotland left upset this season as Rangers have romped to 55 and even Nathan Patterson’s call-up to the Scotland squad has left some reeling.
The Ibrox teenager joins fellow uncapped youngsters in Chelsea’s Billy Gilmour and Celtic’s David Turnbull in Steve Clarke’s 26-man squad for the summer’s tournament.
Patterson, 19, is Rangers’ Academy Player of the Year and the breakthrough talent of this season, his performances during an injury to captain James Tavernier certainly catching the eye.
However, Patterson would miss the last four games of the season through a Covid-19 ban and this had had some questioning why Clarke included him in the squad.
Not only that, but St Johnstone and Celtic fans aplenty have been left crying over the fact Patterson – one of the nation’s top talents – got in the squad in front of resident Saints grunt Shaun Rooney.
Rooney is one of those Scottish players who aims to have a career defined by nothing incidents against Rangers and calls for him to be included over Patterson are as tinpot as they come.
Thankfully, it’s a suggestion which has been thoroughly ridiculed by the Rangers faithful who been left in stitches by the suggestion on Twitter:

Rangers fans are thoroughly buzzing for Patterson making the squad with Ibrox goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin also being called up by Steve Clarke.
Patterson also shared an image of himself and Chelsea kid Billy Gilmour in the aftermath of the call to show his historic link-up with the midfielder.
