Ahead of the new season “tinpot” Celtic need all the help that they can get as Rangers prepare to defend their title crown following a comprehensive 25-point title victory last season.

The Gers are also gearing up for their 150th anniversary and look lightyears ahead of their Old Firm rivals on and off the pitch.

But whilst Celtic should perhaps be focusing on what’s going on in their own ground, the Parkhead club has been branded “tinpot” for centring its new home kit around the Ibrox giants.

Far from focus on what’s going on at Parkhead, the designers of their new strip have sought to curry favour with supporters by taking a dig at the Gers.

Ever since the Gers snatched the league crown back from Celtic the Parkhead club have been Sevcoing all summer and this has even continued into the kit design.

Clearly referring to Rangers’ financial collapse in 2012, Celtic’s kit campaign is centred around the phrase “unbroken hoops, unbroken history”.

This follows up from the hilariously salty #OneClubSince1888 tweet from the Parkhead side’s official Twitter account which remains the pinned tweet on the hilarious Kerrydale Meltdown.

If all Celtic have this season is tinpot digs at Rangers over 2012 whilst the Ibrox club compete in the Champions League and romp to another title, we’re sure it’ll soothe the pain of their supporters.

Rangers fans naturally found the entire thing hilarious as our rival’s inferiority complex is laid bare even in their kit launch:

We have to say that we wholeheartedly endorse this “tinpot” marketing campaign and we hope there is more of it to come as our 150th celebrations ramp up.

Speaking of Celtic, here’s some of their fans getting the excuses in early and accusing the SFA of “corruption” after Rangers’ pre-season friendly win over Partick Thistle.
