Rangers fans have had plenty to laugh about when it comes to Old Firm rivals Celtic this season and as their managerial hunt goes on the latest name linked to their rivals has many in stitches.

Tottenham Hotspur this week “relieved” legendary Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho of his duties with a sweepstake immediately popping up over how long it’d take Celtic to be linked.

It took around 36 hours for someone to tenuously make the link between the Hopeless Ones and the Special One with the Scottish Sun running a special on the suggestion which even made its way onto the BBC’s Gossip Column.

According to them, ex-Chelsea, Man U, Porto, Inter, and Real Madrid boss Jose has now “entered the market” for the Celtic job with the manager apparently eager to return to management immediately.

They might admit that the scenario is “farfetched” – and there’s little doubt that this is perhaps more about the bookmakers than genuine interest – but it’s had Rangers fans gutting themselves.

Whoever the next manager is at Parkhead directly impacts the goings-on at Rangers with Gers fans having one eye on their next appointment.

And the Ibrox support are clearly quaking in their very boots at the pipedream suggestion Jose Mourinho could be rocking up at Lennoxtown any time soon:

The vacant Spurs role has plenty talking with links to both Rangers and Celtic being named in the press at potential successors.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has been linked whilst Celtic’s “first choice” manager is reportedly also in the running.
