Former Celtic hero Alan Thompson is the latest name to bite to the baited hook of Rangers fans as the Ibrox club stretch their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership to 11 points.

The prospect of Celtic achieving their holy grail of 10IAR – despite dubious claims to it – is slipping away from them with a rampant Rangers showing no signs of slowing this season.

There’s still a long way to go – but going by the sort of comments being made by Thompson et al there is a smell of fear emanating from the eastend of Glasgow.

Former Parkhead winger Thompson took to Twitter to say:

“I see they’re all out tonight in full bloom!! Amazing after nine seasons of silence!! Goodnight”.

Beautiful.

After years of dominance Celtic fans are flaking left, right and centre due to a spell of bad form, a brass neck when you consider the loyalty shown by Rangers fans over the last decade.

Thompson’s comments didn’t go unnoticed by the Ibrox faithful with Rangers fans responding on Twitter after the club’s 4-0 demolition of Aberdeen rubbed salt in Celtic wounds.

Alan Thompson isn’t the only Celtic hero whose comments are catching the eye of Rangers fans either.

A current Celtic star – who actually liked Thompson’s tweet – has been goaded by the Rangers support for his latest blunder in a Parkhead career becoming defined by them.
