Rangers fans in stitches as Celtic boss makes remarkable Sturgeon claim

Celtic boss Neil Lennon has hit out at First Minister Nicola Sturgeon in desperate comments which have had Rangers fans absolutely buckled in side-splitting laughter.

The head of the SNP – Scotland’s leading nationalist party championing independence – is apparently treating historically unionist Rangers better than Celtic.

Not that we’re suggesting this makes a difference to Sturgeon – the Holyrood chief has consistently claimed that football is more a frustration than a political tool to her.

But Lennon certainly feels there’s something afoot regarding Holyrood’s response to the latest Rangers Covid-19 breach where five Ibrox players attended a party in the west end.

Resorting back to that classic Celtic footing of conspiracy these outlandish comments very much feel like the natural order is being restored in Glasgow.

“Odd? Hypocritical. I could use a lot of words. But I’m not going to because I don’t want the story to be about me,” said Lennon [Glasgow Times].

“I have come out and called it as I saw it. And people have thrown all sorts back at me. But my conscience was clear at the time [of the post-Dubai press conference] and still is.

“And I don’t want to take the government on again but you can tell there is a bit of discontent there.

“There just seemed to be a different tack to when [First Minister Nicola Sturgeon] was speaking about us. The fact she brought us into the answer [when asked about the Rangers players] sort of baffled me as well.

“I think we as a club have been treated differently from other clubs, and other parts of society as well.

“I said all I needed to say after Dubai. I said it smacked of hypocrisy and I am not changing from that.

“That is all I am going to say about it.”

Always cheated, never defeated, add this one to the long line of excuses Celtic boss Lennon has for falling short in their laughable attempt at 10IAR.

Rangers fans aplenty are in genuine hysterics at the comments with many believing Celtic have taken back their more natural position as the second placed side with this conspiracy nonsense:

It’s not the only Celtic excuse or commentary on this season which has caught the eye of Rangers fans either.

The club’s supporters once again took to Twitter in laughter when Lennon put forward a remarkable excuse for the season’s collapse only a week ago.
