On Saturday afternoon, host of former Rangers players returned to Ibrox for the legends fixture against Liverpool.
The big story of the day was, of course, Steven Gerrard switching teams and donning Light Blue for a late cameo.
However, there were plenty of other talking points to emerge from the game.
One of which, was Alan Hutton’s performance.
Rangers fans impressed by Hutton display
The 34-year-old started at right-back and plenty believed throughout the course of the game, showed he’s still got it.
That should hardly come as a surprise, considering he was playing week in, week out for Aston Villa in the Championship last season, while in comparison, some others gracing the Ibrox turf at the weekend have been retired for a decade or more.
Rarely does a charity game reflect how a player could realistically contribute in a proper competitive tie, but that didn’t stop some impressed onlookers from suggesting the club should sign Hutton up.
Can Alan Hutton please re-sign for Rangers???

Not to exaggerate as it’s a legends friendly.

After Alan Hutton's performance today for the @RangersFC Legends, I definitely think he could offer us a lot more than just an appearance in a legend game. Definitely get him signed for the rest of the season! #RangersFC

Hutton & Buffel were outstanding today. Gerrard showed why he played at the very top level. Guys running and passing was exquisite.

Hutton, who is still rated at £900k by Transfermarkt, remains a free agent following his Villa Park release at the end of the 2018/19 campaign.
Last month, he admitted he had contemplated retirement, but that he was keen to continue playing if the right offer came along. He claimed he had turned down approaches from Championship clubs, but would consider moving back to Scotland for the right deal [BBC Sport].
Is this pie in the sky stuff, or would you take Hutton back at Ibrox?
