Rangers fans have praised Castore after their new home kit was worn by the players for the first time in a bounce match against Hamilton on Friday afternoon.

After much speculation, Liverpool-based Castore were announced as the Gers’ official kit and retail partners back in May.

Since then, the main kit and goalkeeper strip have been unveiled and the supporters like what they see.

The initial batch of 50,000 home shirts sold out within 36 hours and with pre-season fixtures just around the corner, demand is unlikely to die down any time soon.

On Friday, for the first time, the players donned the new gear to take on Accies.

Following the fixture, the club tweeted an action shot of Jermain Defoe in the shiny strip and fans were full of praise for it.

Even former Gers striker Martyn Waghorn felt compelled to share his approval.

The Gers conceded early against Accies but a header from new signing Calvin Bassey and a late penalty from Alfredo Morelos secured a 2-1 comeback victory.

The vast majority of the first-team squad was given a runout but five players – including Ryan Jack – sat out due to injury.
