Rangers fans have overseen a record-breaking number of season ticket renewals with over 43,000 supporters rushing to snap up the Ibrox briefs – and boost Rangers’ transfer kitty in the process.
The Daily Record is reporting that the sales will be worth around £20 million to the club.
Rangers chairman Dave King claimed that all money raised by season ticket sales will go to Steven Gerrard’s transfer kitty [Rangers.co.uk].

And Gers fans have responded to that message – despite a 5% increase on season ticket pricing.
It shows incredible commitment from the Rangers fans and exemplifies just how excited supporters are for next season.
The incredible number was snapped up before Monday’s renewal deadline.
The rest will now be put up for sale to those on the season ticket waiting list.
The fact the Broomloan Stand has been taken from Celtic fans will also have had a hand in punters parting with their cash. Previously, Celtic were given 8000 seats. Now it’s only 800.
By snapping up all of those tickets, the Gers fans are fuelling our recruitment.
And if Dave King, and the Daily Record, are to be believed, they’ve also just added £20m to the transfer kitty.
