As Celtic manager Neil Lennon officially leaves the club, Rangers fans are gutted for one main reason concerning the Parkhead legend’s unceremonious exit.
The Parkhead club claim their former midfielder has “resigned” from his position after a season where the club’s 10IAR hopes have been obliterated by a rampant Rangers.
But whilst it’s genuinely hilarious to see on of their legends suffer such a massive fall from grace in their season of all seasons, Rangers fans are a little disappointed.
Many of the Ibrox supporters wanted Neil Lennon to be there to see the club lift 55 or to follow up on his comments about a guard of honour should the Gers go to Celtic Park as Champions.
Lennon has overseen a season of catastrophe as Celtic have buckled under the pressure of a relentless Rangers side still unbeaten in the Scottish Premiership and Europa League.
The Parkhead fans have watched on through the gaps in their fingers as Rangers have romped home with the club’s first league title in a decade restoring the natural order in Glasgow.
Rangers fans – deservedly smug after almost 10 years on the backfoot – would’ve loved to have seen the former Celtic captain in tears as the Gers lifted their 55th league title this season:
John Kennedy will take interim charge of the Celtic side whilst they appoint a successor, and it could well be him who must witness us win the title at Parkhead instead.
As Neil Lennon leaves his post, there’s also one ex-Rangers star also finding a new job in Scottish football.
