Celtic fans everywhere have been melting down ahead of Rangers winning 55 and the latest to publicly voice his frustration is a former Lisbon Lion.

Whilst backup goalkeeper John Fallon never got on the pitch in Celtic’s 1967 European Cup win he obviously remains particularly loyal to his old team.

Taking to Twitter, Fallon complained about recent Steven Gerrard comments about Rangers winning their 55th title coming out with the classic new club line about it only being Rangers’ first championship.

Here’s what Gerrard said first:

“Well look the fans are the priority here and we totally understand and can relate to how they’re feeling at the moment,” said Gerrard [Rangers].

“We want them to really enjoy this time and really revel in the moment, of course the fireworks (against Livingston) were impressive for sure.

“It’s fantastic what’s happening at the moment and we need to enjoy every single day as they go by.

“The important thing for us as a group is to keep winning football matches and it will happen when it does.

“The most important thing is to get that trophy back, knock all the 54’s off the wall for 55 and add to the wonderful history at this football club.

“If it happens on Sunday or in April or May – I don’t care, as long as it happens.”

And here’s how Lisbon Lion Fallon responded to the Rangers gaffer:

Naturally Gers fans weren’t having it one bit and absolutely indulged in the tears of a Celtic hinger-on-erer clearly upset by 55 and the death of Terry Munro:

Rangers fans are plenty excited to secure that 55th league title with the best yet to come for the Ibrox side.

Supporters gathered at Ibrox stadium ahead of the match with St Mirren to welcome the Champions elect to Ibrox with the club on the verge of history.
