Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos was this week linked with a high-profile move to Ligue 1 side St. Etienne, according to a claim in the French media.
The French outfit were reportedly said to be pondering a move [Le Progres] for Rangers and Colombia’s 23 goal striker ahead of the January window.
But that claim has been quashed by a different French outlet who suggest St. Etienne believe that Rangers are being “greedy” with the price tag they’ve attached to the striker [Le 10].

Naturally, the notion that Rangers are being greedy with their prized asset is one which has had the club’s supporters outspoken.
Rangers have repeatedly stated that Morelos won’t be sold in the transfer window, with Steven Gerrard [BT Sport] and sporting director Ross Wilson both dismissing questions on the striker.
Whilst Gerrard did admit that the decision may be taken out of his hands eventually [Daily Record], the suggestion is that that it would take megabucks to see Rangers deal.
Naturally, this has led Rangers fans to dismiss any claim the club is being “greedy” over the Colombian striker.
Rangers – it would take crazy money in January to get Morelos
St.etienne – how much for Morelos?

St. etienne – how unreasonable and greedy pic.twitter.com/5eXItihFIe

So Rangers are accused of 'being greedy' over the Alfredo Morelos valuation by st ettienne. I'm afraid if they don't have the money. Don't bother bidding

Only Rangers could be the focus of a negative news story for not wanting to sell their best player

I’m sure Rangers would accuse St Etienne of “being cheap” if you asked them about interest on their best player. What a crock of nonsense.

When stories surrounding Morelos appear in the Scottish press, they’re almost always shrouded in negativity.
The Scottish sports press also came under fire from Rangers fans for their coverage of a Morelos miss for Colombia against Peru.
Is all the bullshit and bluster more to do with how vital Morelos is to Rangers’ title ambitions than his attitude, value or future?
