Rangers fans eager for club to finalise deal for £18m-rated star

Rangers fans have called on the club to finalise a contract for centre-back Connor Goldson after reports in April claimed the Ibrox stalwart was set to sign.

The Daily Record claimed well over a month ago that Gers defender Connor Goldson was set to be the latest name to sign on at Ibrox amid a spate of contract renewals.

Allan McGregor, Steven Davis and James Tavernier were amongst several players given renewals with Goldson’s future believed to be a priority such is his importance to the team and club.

WAYNE ROONEY TO EVERTON IS A JOKE.

Connor, 28, played in every game this season and even led the side during an extended absence for club skipper James Tavernier.

A vital player whose defensive prowess is supplemented with an astute offensive passing ability, Goldson is every inch a Premier League quality defender and a player it will be very difficult to replace.

Goldson’s value to the side was given a valuation in the Athletic by 21st club earlier in the season and they believed him then to be an £18m player.

As Rangers prepare an assault on the Champions League next season Goldson is entering the final year of his contract following a £3m move from Brighton in 2018.

To protect the asset and ensure Connor doesn’t get unsettled the club’s supporters want to see the centre-half signed on at Ibrox:

Connor Goldson was a goliath for Rangers this season and played every game at centre-half in a season where the Gers beat all kinds of defensive records.

Here’s more on that original report which claimed the Ibrox vice-skipper was going to sign a new deal worth in the region of £4.5m
