Rangers teenager Nathan Patterson has made the 26-man Scotland squad for the European Championships this summer as the debate over his place is finally settled.
The Ibrox kid, 19, was on fine form to cover James Tavernier during a period where the skipper was injured this season and performed admirably domestically and in Europe.
A high-profile Covid-19 breach curtailed the youngster’s season with a six-match ban handed down by the SFA leaving plenty thinking the youngster wouldn’t make the team.
But Patterson makes the squad and is one of an uncapped trio of youngsters alongside Celtic’s David Turnbull and Chelsea midfielder/ex-Rangers youth Billy Gimour to be included.
Rangers goalkeeper Jon McLaughlin is also included in the squad after a superb season at Ibrox and he will face off against Derby’s David Marshall and Hearts’ Craig Gordon for a starting berth.
McLaughlin, 33, has been superb for Rangers this season and very much deserves this call-up after keeping 12 clean sheets in 14 games, conceding only three goals.
Former Gers star John Fleck also makes the squad and he’ll look forward to the Euros after a disappointing season at Sheffield United which saw the Blades relegated.
Fleck comes into a midfield struggling with injuries as Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack and former Gers youth Kenny McLean, currently at Norwich, miss the tournament.
Rangers fans were delighted for all players old and new but it was the inclusion of Patterson in the Scotland squad which most caught the eye of the Ibrox faithful:

Rangers fans will be looking forward to a whole host of names attending the European Championships this summer with club talent aplenty on show at the tournament.
Amongst them includes Borna Barisic, who has been rewarded for his outstanding performances at Ibrox this season.
