Rangers star Borna Barisic has been rewarded for his outstanding displays in Light Blue this season with a spot in Croatia’s preliminary Euro 2020 squad [HNS Twitter].
Barisic picked up an injury late on in the campaign that ensured he missed out on the final two Premiership fixtures against Livingston and Aberdeen.

The issue isn’t expected to keep him out in the long term, though, and that’s just as well, with a major tournament on the horizon.
The 28-year-old wasn’t involved in Croatia’s remarkable 2018 World Cup run which saw them reach the final, only to lose to France.
However, he’s since proven his ability to play at international level, moving to 18 senior international caps with a mixture of qualifying and friendly appearances.
He’s not guaranteed the left-back slot for the Euros, which start in less than two months’ time, but he’s certainly deserved his spot in the squad following an outstanding campaign for the Gers.
Barisic made a whopping 50 appearances in all competitions and was an extremely reliable performer for Steven Gerrard.

He scored five goals – showing prowess from the spot during James Tavernier’s injury absence – and contributed an impressive 14 assists, with his deliveries from the left flank consistently causing problems for opposition defences.
The former Osijek star was a strong performer in both domestic and European competition and was recently named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year.
In other news, Stewart Robertson has waxed lyrical about the club’s ‘simply extraordinary’ support following a major season ticket update.
