As Celtic won the Scottish Cup final courtesy of a penalty victory against Hearts, the reaction of their club captain to one ex-Rangers star caught the eye of Ibrox fans.

Steven Naismith might not be the most popular man at Ibrox Stadium at times but in a fight with Celtic captain Scott Brown we all know who we’re backing.

Naismith appeared to leave a bit on Brown in the first half and after that there were several incidents across the match which pretty much sum up the character of Celtic’s plastic hardman.

Brown – who loves to give it out but clearly cannot take it – gave it the big hardman act several times with Naisy in cringeworthy footage caught on camera.

The subject of much criticism this season for his laboured performances in green and white, it was to be Brown’s day as his side won the cup.

But he or Celtic didn’t exactly cover themselves in glory as their embarrassing, childish and unbecoming celebrations summed up a club and player in rapid decline.

Here’s how bright-cheeked Rangers fans laughed off Brown’s embarrassing antics as Celtic’s classless captain once again exemplified his small-time mentality:

As Celtic lifted the Scottish Cup on penalties, Rangers had stretched their lead to 16 in the Scottish Premiership by beating Motherwell 3-1 only the day previously.

The Ibrox side need to keep their eyes on the prize to ensure that Steven Gerrard’s Rangers are celebrating an even-bigger victory come May.
