Rangers fans are clashing on Twitter over the decision of multiple fans to routinely leave the stadium after 70-75 minutes despite games having everything to play for.

The debate over the “Subway Loyal” has raged for generations and concerns the club’s supporters leaving to beat the traffic, nip off to the pub or just to head home whilst there’s everything to fight for on the pitch, amongst a variety of reasons.

Fans are largely split on the situation and after an exodus on Wednesday night, despite the match being neatly poised at 1-0, it’s reignited the debate.

For many supporters, travelling all the way to Ibrox just to leave little over an hour is a waste of time and the seat should be given up to someone else.

Many fans believe that often when the club needs its support the most, fans are funnelling out and not giving the players the support that they deserve.

Some Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to fume about their fellow supporter’s leaving the stadium early:

Whilst on the face of it it’s easy to shame those supporters who routinely get up from their seats and leave halfway through a match, some have defended their decision.

Be it necessary for work, related to health or even just because they want to beat the traffic or grab a beer, some fans see no issue with it.

In fact, they’ve taken to Twitter to tell those complaining to mind their own business:

It is a situation with largely polarises supporters and one which tends to rear its head during routine enough matches.

It’s very rare you see fans streaming out early from European matches or Old Firms, or even in key games in the latter stages of the season. Although it does happen.

Do those supporters who leave owe the club and players more or should anyone claiming mind their own business?
