Some Rangers fans have called for more game time for Greg Stewart following the attacker’s brace against Lokomotiv Tashkent in Dubai.
Stewart played the second half of the friendly clash against the Uzbek club at the Dubai Sevens Stadium, scoring twice in the closing stages.
The first came from the penalty spot, as he sent the goalkeeper the wrong way to slot a finish into the bottom right corner.
Then, in the 90th minute, he grabbed a second, making it six for the Gers in the process. After an excellent driving run and through ball from Jordan Jones, the 29-year-old took one touch to control, before firing a low right-footed strike into the far corner.
Saturday’s opposition were hardly an elite outfit, but the summer signing produced two good finishes which will give his confidence a lift ahead of the return to competitive action.
The goals have also led to renewed calls for him to be afforded more regular game time by Steven Gerrard.

The ex-Birmingham City man has only started three Premiership games so far this season and has played just 538 minutes in all competitions.
Steven Gerrard ignored clamours for him to be brought into the XI after his brace against Hearts at Ibrox in December, with the manager even leaving him out of the matchday squad for the win at Parkhead just before the winter break.
Plenty of Bears are hoping his approach with Stewart changes in 2020, though.
