Rangers swept hapless Hearts aside at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, recording a 5-0 win to move just one goal behind Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
It was as comfortable an assignment as the Gers are likely to have for some time, with the Jambos registering just two shots across the 90 minutes [BBC Sport].
Alfredo Morelos opened the scoring in the 11th minute with yet another impressive header, before Ryan Kent backed up last week’s brace at Hamilton with the second in the run-up to half-time.

In the second period, Christophe Berra gave the Gers a helping hand by putting through his own net shortly after the hour mark.

That third goal put the result beyond any doubt and prompted a series of changes from Steven Gerrard, who clearly had one eye on tougher challenges to come.
Yet, the subs didn’t halt the momentum, with Greg Stewart, who had replaced Glen Kamara with 15 minutes to go, grabbing two opportunistic goals in the closing stages to make it 5-0.

Rangers fans laud Greg Stewart for brace against Hearts
Stewart only saw three minutes of first-team action in November, but the Gers attacker made the very most of his cameo outing this afternoon.
He’s arguably been as impressive as any of the players to be deployed in the advanced right role this season and has been unfortunate not to feature more. Especially, because he’s registered at least an assist each time he’s completed 90 minutes in Light Blue [Transfermarkt].

Clearly, the hard work had already been done before he entered the fray this time around.
Yet, he certainly made the most of the opportunities afforded to him by a combination of his teammate’s endeavours and the flagging Hearts defenders, to net his second and third Rangers goals in the 80th and 85th minutes respectively.
Following his contributions, plenty of supporters expressed their delight on social media, demanding he starts more regularly.
Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:
