Rangers have recalled influential duo as firstly Ryan Jack and Steven Davis to the starting XI for the visit of Kilmarnock as a crocked pair also return to the squad.

The introduction of Jack and Davis from the bench turned the game for Rangers in the 1-1 draw with Hamilton with many fans believing the duo are essential members of that starting XI

Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield also returned to training this week after an extensive seven-week lay-off with the player’s positivity lauded by Gers boss Gerrard.

Alongside Arfield, veteran striker Jermain Defoe has also returned to the matchday squad after being posted missing since the 1-0 victory over Hibs at the end of January.

His presence in the squad will provide extra back-up to Swiss forward Cedric Itten who will be hoping to grab his chance leading the line at Ibrox.

Rangers are without first-choice strikers Alfredo Morelos and Kemar Roofe through suspension with Itten being tasked with finding the goals this afternoon.

Here’s how Rangers fans reacted to the starting XI on Twitter with Jack and Davis’ inclusion and Arfield and Defoe’s return capturing their attention:

South African midfielder Bongani Zungu and Finnish international Glen Kamara have dropped out for influential duo Jack and Davis and Gerrard also makes other change from the Hamilton draw.

Nigerian international Leon Balogun has been selected in front of Swedish defender Filip Helander.

January signing Scott Wright is included on the bench but there is no sight of fellow winter arrival Jack Simpson.

Rangers know they face a tough task against a stubborn Kilmarnock and the club will be hoping it isn’t a triumphant return for one star long associated with Ibrox.
