Rangers fans have been left laughing all the way to 55 after the latest comments of Celtic manager Neil Lennon and the “mitigating circumstances” behind our Old Firm rival’s collapse.
In truly spectacular style, Celtic have faltered at the final hurdle of their “10IAR” charge which was lauded as the Holy Grail by the Parkhead fanbase and an inevitability rather than a challenge.

Rangers have been spectacular all season in Scotland and Celtic have been unable to match both their intensity and their ability this campaign.
Twice this season Celtic have been beaten by Rangers and twice this season it has sent the Parkhead club into freefall and a run of awful form which has defined their season.
According to Lennon, there are circumstances behind the scenes at Parkhead which have caused this collapse which cannot be made public – nothing to do with them bottling under the Rangers pressure then, no?
Seriously, check these quotes out.
“I don’t think it’s unfair or unrealistic but we have had mitigating circumstances throughout the course of the campaign, some of which I can’t divulge publicly,” said Lennon [Daily Record].
“But I’ve never shied away from the fact that it’s been massively disappointing and we could and should have performed better. That’s on me, my staff and the football department as well.
“It’s not a popularity contest. It’s about playing good football and winning, bringing players to the club, developing them and selling them on, which is what I’ve done over the piece.
“The 10 was the Holy Grail, really, and it may be beyond us but we won’t give it up just yet.”
Rangers fans had a field day with them as they goaded the Celtic manager for the umpteenth time this season:

They really are the gift that keeps on giving this season and Rangers fans are well within their rights to lap this sort of nonsense up for as long as it lasts.
The last excuse got a similar response from Rangers fans as Lennon, his team and Celtic as a club stay true to form and refuse to take any responsibility for their unceremonious collapse.
