With Celtic a man down against Rangers this weekend, they turned to their bench and called on summer signing Shane Duffy.
Since joining the Parkhead club in the summer – to much fanfare being a Celtic supporting Irishman – things could probably not have gone any worse.

Duffy cost Celtic the bones of £2m for a loan fee from Brighton whilst the Parkhead club took on £25k per week on wages to bring the Republic of Ireland international to Glasgow [Sky Sports].
Since then Duffy’s Celtic career has been a horror blooper reel of calamitous defending and genuine nervousness in big matches.
Duffy has impressed at times against smaller sides in Scotland, his ability in the air certainly a threat in both boxes.
But it turns out his defending is too as once again the centre-half stumbled through the 20 minutes or so he played against Rangers.
Duffy, 29, should’ve really seen red for a cynical and potentially dangerous foul on Ryan Kent which sparked a bit of a rammy in the middle of the pitch.
The big defender then handed the ball to Ryan Kent who really should’ve done better before he fired it at the Irishman’s outstretched leg.
Being a Celtic fan, Duffy has been getting it tight from the Rangers support on Twitter who gun for the one-time Premier League centre-half:

Summer signing Shane Duffy isn’t the only Celtic player who’s been getting it tight on social media after Rangers edged out a 1-0 win at Ibrox.
Celtic captain Scott Brown – another substitute for Neil Lennon’s side – has been heavily criticised for a clash with Rangers star Alfredo Morelos.
