Nathan Patterson has been linked with a return to Rangers amid his struggles at Everton.
The Scotland right-back is representing his country at the World Cup and could be on his way out of Merseyside following the tournament.
Rangers are keeping tabs on Patterson as they are eyeing a replacement for James Tavernier.
A four-man shortlist has been drawn up to replace James Tavernier…
We believe Hampus Skoglund is the ideal candidate. Let us know what you think!
Rangers fans do not want club to re-sign Nathan Patterson
Patterson started the game for Scotland against Morocco on Friday night and had an afternoon to forget at the World Cup.
Not only did he end up losing the game 1-0, but he was also arguably one of his team’s worst performers.
Defensively, he contributed nothing, winning zero tackles all game.
He also got dispossessed on numerous occasions and made a number of questionable pass attempts in the final third that gave Morocco the opportunity to counter-attack.
Despite being off the pace and clearly lacking match sharpness, Steve Clarke decided to keep him on for 89 minutes.
Which right-back would you prefer at Rangers?
There is a chance that two new right-backs may be signed…
Looking at his performance, every Rangers fan on X believes that he does not deserve to be back at Ibrox next summer.
Here are some of their tweets:
@GoramWATP: “Tonight should at the very least settle the argument that Nathan Patterson and Lewis Ferguson are not quality players and don’t belong in a Rangers top.”
@FacelessRangers: “Patterson was terrible.”
@GM1872_: “Patterson was poor.”
@IainM58: “I agree regarding Patterson (not being good enough for Rangers).”
@RonaldR44615821: “I agree on Patterson though. He looked like he had won a comp to be there.”
@BurleighArchie: “Patterson too many injuries have affected him.”
@QBLOYAL: “I wouldn’t touch Patterson even for free now, he’s a shadow of the player we first seen at Rangers.”
@BrodieW1988: “Hope that puts an end to Patterson back to Rangers shouts. Woeful.”
@lewiswilliam31: “Patterson should be nowhere near a Rangers team.”
@CInnes1972: “Also not a chance I’m taking Patterson back at Rangers; he’s an absolute shell of a player he was with us.”
@Reg_rfc: “For the Rangers fans that would’ve liked Patterson back. That’s your reminder why we shouldn’t. I like the guy, but he’s miles off it now.”

How much would Patterson likely cost this summer?
While most fans would not want to see Patterson back, if the hierarchy and Derek McInnes decide otherwise, they will explore the finances behind it.
At 24, the Toffees could argue that his best days are still ahead of him, but his recent fitness issues would make it hard for them to demand big money.
They paid Rangers £12m, which could even rise to £16m for the Scotsman back in 2022, and he is no longer worth that much.
With just a year left on his deal, if the Light Blues could get him for closer to the £5m mark, they may be tempted to do a deal.
He is not in David Moyes’ plans for a starting berth next season, so the wise thing to do will be to cash in on him.
