Rangers have taken to YouTube to fully explain the benefits of the new MYGERS initiative which was officially launched by Stewart Robertson on Friday morning.

In a statement published on Rangers.co.uk, the club’s managing director echoed the words of Steven Gerrard by thanking Bears for their support amid the global health crisis, before reemphasising that season ticket prices have been frozen for the 2020/21 season.

He then moved onto the MYGERS initiative which he said will “bring our supporters, both domestically and internationally, even closer to the club.”

Soon afterwards, a video was posted on the club’s official YouTube channel which explains the new membership scheme.

Benefits of signing up include: ticketing priority, a 30-day free trial and discounted RTV subscription, a MYGERS welcome gift, access to MYGERS experiences and competitions including mascot places and first-team meet and greets, access to club discounts including stadium tours and Women’s team tickets.

The video goes on to explain that MYGERS members will earn points for activity, with their starting balance based on activity from the 2015/16 season onwards.

From next season, points will be earned for things like home match attendance, ticket purchases, RTV subscriptions, stadium tours and selected club events.

MYGERS members will be placed into one of three tiers: Gold, Silver or Bronze. Activity over the course of a season will determine whether you move up or down tiers or remain at the same level.

Going forward, there will be a specific ticket window for MYGERS members following the Season Ticket holders but before general sale.

Gold members will also have priority access for European and domestic away games as well as domestic semi-finals and finals.

It’s an exciting new approach from Rangers and one through which fans have a new way to show their loyalty and to subsequently access rewards.

In these uncertain financial times, the MYGERS membership scheme should create extra revenue for the club and strengthen its bid to get through the global health crisis.
