Rangers could yet get a late Champions League boost from Ibrahim Sangare-linked Liverpool – if the Ibrox club can get past Servette and land PSV Eindhoven.

The Gers take a narrow 2-1 lead to Switzerland with the resurgent Super League club hosting a historic sell-out and ready to do everything they can to cling onto their Champions League fate.

Rangers fans certainly rue not killing the tie off at against 10-man Servette at Ibrox and it is still all to play for ahead of this week’s crunch Champions League CR3 tie.

Should Rangers amble their way past Servette, as is expected of Michael Beale’s side, then PSV Eindhoven and Ibrahim Sangare will likely lie in wait having battered Sturm Graz 4-1 in the first leg.

Rangers are very familiar with the highly-rated PSV midfielder having come up against the Senegalese in last season’s Champions League Playoff.

Having scored in the first leg at Ibrox, Ibrahim Sangare represents one PSV Eindhoven’s biggest threats from midfield but amid news Liverpool are interested in his services that could be about to change.

According to ESPN, Ibrahim Sangare is attracting interest from across Europe with Liverpool joining Bayern Munich and PSG in tailing the player.

The report claims that it will take around £32m for Liverpool to sign the midfielder with Sangare holding a release clause in his PSV Eindhoven contract.

It comes after Chelsea pipped the Anfield side to the signing of Brighton midfielder Moises Caicedo, who is set to move to Stamford Bridge to the tune of £115m.

If anything, the situation proves the calibre of player PSV Eindhoven boast in the 25-year-old and Rangers fans will be watching the situation closely as the club prepares to face off against Servette in the Champions League.

Whilst the Gers face a big clash with Servette in QR3, should Rangers reach the Champions League playoff Liverpool could yet hand the club a major boost in their hopes of reaching the group stages.
