Rangers could land themselves a financial boost with Europa League victory over Red Star Belgrade, with progress to the quarter-finals worth an extra £1.5m [UEFA].
Add to this the £7.2m the Ibrox side have made so far this campaign and a decent windfall could soon be on its way to Rangers.

This is strictly just prize money, TV revenue will also be added to that total and although somewhat shy of the Champions League millions, it is still a decent figure that can be added to the Ibrox coffers.
Rangers could win £1.5m if they defeat Red Star Belgrade in the Europa League
Rangers are in the last 16 of Europe’s secondary competition for the third consecutive season, with genuine hopes that a quarter-final berth can be achieved.
There is a small matter of two tough ties against the Serbian champions ahead, however, but the confidence of beating European heavyweights Borussia Dortmund will stand us in good stead.
Reaching the quarters would represent the Ibrox side’s furthest venture on the continent since 2008 when we reached the UEFA Cup final.
The prestige of winning only our second European trophy is one many fans can dream of, but the stark reality is, winning the league and securing the £40m Champions League windfall remains the priority to the majority of the supporters.
If we did make it through to the next round, £8.7m would be banked away from the tournament and that would be a healthy bonus ahead of the summer, where I’m sure Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be looking to rejig the playing squad.

The first leg takes place on Thursday evening as Red Star visits Ibrox, before the second leg on March 17.
In other news, a first-team call is surely awaiting Tony Weston following his recent exploits.
