Rangers are to consider terminating the contract of Josh McPake amid reports of major “off-field” issues with the young attacker.
Currently on loan at Queen’s Park, there was a time when the now 21-year-old was amongst the brightest talents at the club with Steven Gerrard a big fan of the forward.

Handed his debut in a Europa League qualifier against St Joseph’s in 2019, big things were expected of Josh McPake with Rangers also handing the player a new three-year deal in the summer of 2021.
However, things have not turned out as planned for Josh McPake at Rangers and the attacker finds himself out on loan at Championship high-flyers Queen’s Park this season.
Now, according to Football Insider, Rangers are considering the termination of the player’s contract 18 months early due to recurring “off-field” issues.
Rangers to offload Josh McPake?
The report claims that Rangers tried to offload the winger in January but failed to find a buyer with Josh McPake remaining at Queen’s Park and helping them to the top of the Scottish second flight.
These claims follow on from reports last summer that Josh McPake was struggling with off-field problems and that Rangers wanted to finally get rid of the attacker.
Back then, McPake emphatically responded with images of himself in the gym as he looked to get his condition right and attitude right heading into the new campaign.
But if the latest reports are to be believed, Josh McPake is once again struggling to keep it together off the pitch and Rangers could be about to cut their losses.
Now in his sixth loan stint out of Rangers, Josh McPake has spent time out at Dundee, Greenock Morton, Harrogate Town, Morecambe and Tranmere Rovers.
To date, that substitute appearance v St Joseph’s remains the only professional showing for Rangers in McPake’s career.
Meanwhile, Richard Keys has sparked a Celtic meltdown with comments about Rangers.
