Calciomercato report that Rangers face competition if they are to land Josip Vukovic.
The 26-year-old Croatian has been impressing at Maritimo this season, and this isn’t the first time his name has been mentioned in connection with the Gers.

Back in February, A Bola reported that the club was interested in a summer swoop.
Now, according to the Italian outlet’s report, Lazio are joining in the race. Championship promotion chasers Aston Villa, are also named as an interested party.
He is expected to cost something in the region of £900k to £1 million.
Verdict
Looking at his footballing CV alone, Vukovic doesn’t stand out as an obvious target.
He’s had seven clubs in his senior career so far, despite being just 26. Furthermore, he only arrived at Maritimo last summer.
Since then, he’s racked up 19 appearances for the Portuguese outfit [Soccerbase], who currently sit 13th in the Primeira Liga.
The report describes him as a ‘midfielder with a great physique and defensive skills combined with good technique.’ However, don’t the Gers already have enough options in midfield?

If it were to boil down to a bidding war, you would think Italian giants Lazio would win out.
They are currently seventh in Serie A and hunting for European football. Should they fail to achieve that, though, it could work in the Gers’ favour.
