Rangers coach Gary McAllister has reportedly been subjected to a vicious unprovoked street attack.
According to The Sun, McAllister was subject to the attack in the early hours of Sunday morning as he waited for a taxi home in Leeds City Centre with wife Hayley.
The 53-year-old reportedly needed 10-12 stitches after the attack. Gary Mac is Steven Gerrard’s Assistant Manager at Rangers.

The former Leeds United, Liverpool and Scotland ace was waiting to go home after a big day out. He had been in Liverpool watching Steven Gerrard score the winner at the Liverpool Legends v Milan Legends match at Anfield. McAllister then travelled to Leeds and took his wife out for dinner.
As he waited for a taxi to go home he fell victim to the attacker. The report suggests his wife wife tried to drag the man off him. McAllister was eventually taken to hospital by the police who’ve since launched an investigation into the attack.
“Gary was in hospital from about 3am to 12 noon,” a source told The Sun. “His face is a mess. He must have at least 10-12 stitches in his top lip.

“It was totally unprovoked by just one bloke. He came from nowhere and just hit him – simply because Gary is a former footballer. It beggars belief. Gary’s pretty shaken up by it all.”
Rangers fans across the country will be wishing Gary a speedy recovery as we look forward to the rest of the season.
The iconic midfielder joined Rangers at the beginning of the season alongside manager Steven Gerrard.
