A popular Rangers club insider has rubbished transfer reports linking the Ibrox side to Aberdeen youngster Lewis Ferguson.

With family ties to Rangers through dad Derek and uncle Barry, reports this morning claimed that the Gers could move for Ferguson should Glen Kamara move on [Scottish Sun].

The Finnish midfielder continues to be linked down south [Daily Mail], but should Kamara move on, the Copland Road Organisation says it won’t be Ferguson in to replace him.

The group describe the links to Ferguson as “complete fantasy”.

The popular Twitter account has links to the club and is generally a reputable and credible source of information regarding Rangers.

If they’re saying that there’s nothing in the Rangers links to Lewis Ferguson, then it’s very likely there’s nothing in the links to Lewis Ferguson.



Even if Rangers were interested in signing the talented Scotland youth international, there’s still plenty of question marks over the deal.

Whilst he clearly has familial allegiances to Ibrox, the fact that the midfielder plays for Aberdeen is a potentially monumental stumbling block.

The Dons are likely to hold Rangers to ransom for a player who’s contracted to Pittodrie until 2023.

This is also after we ask the question of whether or not Ferguson is at the level required to make it at Ibrox.
